Katie’s League of Champions’ Launched!

Your chance to win a trip to the 2014 Champions League Final for two in aid of Local Girl

What would make your dreams come true? Winning the lottery? Getting a new car? For 22 year old Galway Girl, Katie O’Halloran, the dream is to obtain Bebionic prosthetic arms to help her do some of the simple things that most of us take for granted. Katie was born with Femur Fibula Ulna Syndrome, leaving her without arms and with a short, deformed right leg.  The ‘Katie’s League of Champions’ campaign launched on Monday 3rd February, in the Dáíl Bar at 6.30pm in a bid to raise much needed funds for Katie’s procedure.

Katie’s League of Champion’s gives the chance to make your dream come true, while helping towards Katie’s dreams, with a competition prize of Two tickets to the Champions League Final at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica in Lisbon, the first European Cup final staged at the magnificent stadium since 1967, (Saturday 24th May) with flights, two nights luxurious accommodation in a 5 Star hotel, and a huge €1000 spending money up for grabs!

This great campaign see’s Tom Sheridan’s (Knocknacarra), The Dáíl Bar (The Latin Quarter) The Front Door (The Latin Quarter), Brasserie On The Corner (Eglington St) and Blake’s Bar (Eglington St) come together and sponsor a superb prize in support of kaite. Tickets cost €5 and can be purchased behind the bar of each pub, with 100% of the proceeds raised going directly to the “Katie Born to Run” campaign. The winner will be announced on Thursday 1st May 2014.

A native of Cill Chiaráin village in Connemara, Katie O’Halloran has always striven, with considerable success, to overcome her disability and is now looking to obtain Bebionic prosthetic arms. An intelligent young woman in her early twenties, Katie has recently completed a Masters Degree in Public Law, at the National University of Galway. In an attempt to help Katie achieve her new goal, Katie’s family and friends have formed Coiste Katie Born to Run. The fundraising campaign intends to raise the required funds to cover the expensive costs involved with the Bebionic prosthetic arms procedure. Donations can be made on iDonate, with further information available on www.katieborntorun.org
